Water Healing Ceremony

Water represents the flow of energy (known as prana or chi), connecting our emotions and intuition. The flow of water guides daily life in Bali.

According to Balinese believes, that water is one of the key forces of life. Balinese Hindus participate in water blessings regularly (Melukat), a spiritual cleansing ritual aimed to achieve self-purification of both the body and soul. Known for their capacity to cleanse and heal the body, water blessing rituals are used to treat a number of different ailments: physical, emotional and spiritual.

A water temple is built over a sacred spring. These are dotted across the island and widely revered by the Balinese for their extraordinary therapeutic qualities. Melukat is conducted by a Balinese priest and involves chanting, offerings, meditation, prayer, and a ritualistic bath in the holy spring water, known as “Tirta”.

We are about to experience an authentic and intimate ceremony in a holy local temple, unlike the generic, tourist attractions that you sometimes come across.
